Jumping the Gun

I'm afraid that due to the busyness of life, the blog will have to end before it really ever begins. Thanks to the none of you who were following. I hope to, one day, return to this blog. But for now, feel free to hit me up on facebook.

A Blog of Things to Come

The year of 2009 was a real watershed year in my development and devotion to Christ. This was brought about by three books and two albums:

1. Revisiting Relational Youth Ministry: From a Strategy of Influence to a Theology of Incarnation by Andrew Root

Discipleship (Dietrich Bonhoeffer Works, Vol. 4) by Dietrich Bonhoeffer

Evangelism after Christendom: The Theology and Practice of Christian Witness by Bryan Stone

It's All Crazy! It's All False! It's All a Dream! It's Alright by Mewithoutyou

5. Mockingbird by Derek Webb

These five works have effectively altered the way I have always understood Christianity and the way in which I fit into it. If you know anything about these authors/artists, you know that they are all catalysts in the area that they are known in (although Evangelism felt like the cultivation of many sources to influence the Christian practice) and that they do not fit into the normal American Christianity we see all too often today.
I wish to let you know how their ideas have changed me. It will be from these sources that I will often be quoting and commenting from in the coming months. I also read the poetry, yes poetry, of George Herbert, that I might also be sharing with you as well.

Two other major developments in my life have been the idea that Truth and Love are the fundamental motives and objectives as Christians, and the decision to, not only follow and worship Jesus, but to study him, academically, as well.
